There lay a head and a body in an alley in Loguetown.
On the third day. The corpse twitched.
All at once. The crunch of bones first, crackling and popping like the escaping of air in joints. Crawling out from the fatal wound, pure white as if bleached by the sun. The periosteum came next, fibrous and fatty to protect the new formations. Nerves and sinew pulsed and crawled along like a fungus. Fat and musculature inched along in layers. Organs, colorful and bare. Skin grew like bacteria in a petri dish, cultured along different spots and spreading outwards. Hair forced itself outward.
On the third day, there were two bodies in the alley.

The paper is old and fragile in his hands. It feels like if he bends it, it will snap and crumble into dust. The parchment- stained yellow and brown with age- smells of mold and dirt. The writing is smearing in some places, the lettering barely legible, but the fifteen-year-old recognizes the writing and can make sense of it.

Summary
Five years ago Thor failed everyone by not going for the head. He failed to avenge his brother, half the universe was gone. He failed. He then fell into a depression haunted by the memories of his failures. After five years of wallowing in his sadness, Bruce tells Thor there's a chance they can bring everyone back. Thor is not going to pass up the opportunity to save everyone lost during the Blip. Including his brother.

He had not been lied to. Loki really had hoped that he would manage to escape, even if it meant falling into Asgard's hands. Anything would have been better than ending up There again. However, fate rarely gave him what he wanted.

The other witches treat him with caution, with wariness and even fear, because what is a person without a daemon? What exactly did the Brimmed Caps do to him? Things Qifrey wonders himself, and questions he longs to find the answers to. Especially as he watches everyone around him with their daemons, and only feels a gaping, empty space where she should be.
But soul or not, he knows who he wants to be. A witch named Qifrey. The teacher of four fine witches. The best friend of Olruggio of the Torch, the sky's brightest and kindest star. The former apprentice of Beldaruit... Even as he longs to find the answers of his past, and to feel truly, completely whole.
