Summary
The old STO forums had a Literary Challenge to write a story about working with someone your character considered "the worst captain ever". I, ah, took a different angle.
Note: This is the last Grunt story I've written. I wrote two about an ensign from the 22nd century who was accidentally transplanted into the 25th, and one about the beginning of the Delta Recruit storyline featuring a Caitian named Ch'rowl.
