Summary
Bella, the Goddess of the Cult of Death, has come across a rather unexpected turn of events. While she remains the Goddess of Death, her predecessor and co-leader, Narinder, regained his power as a reborn god. They share the aspect of Death, a concept unheard of until now. They both wield the power of the Red Crown, testing the limits of its potential.
The Bishops of the Old Faith, now fully-integrated into the Cult, must navigate this new chapter of their lives. Their old wounds may be healed, but the siblings' hearts still bleed with a grief that they may never recover from.
A new face shows up in these seemingly-godless lands, looking for revenge that may never come to fruition.

After the Lamb fails to defeat Shamura several times, The One Who Waits decides to make a slightly bigger investment in his vessel. He knows it's risky, but he's willing to do whatever is necessary for his own freedom. He gives her a chalice of his ichor, instructing her to drink it.
It creates an unexpected outcome.

Summary
With the Bishops of the Old Faith slain, the world has turned into a tumultuous mess. The Cults of the Old Faith still cling to what is left of their faith, inflicting terror and sorrow in the names of their dead gods.
The Lamb of Prophecy, Bella, has made it her mission to spread the influence of the New Faith, restoring prosperity and peace to her home. The One Who Waits, now referred to as Narinder, has taken it upon himself to guide her, as his former vessel would surely fail without him.
Bella begins to have prophetic dreams of the Bishops' return, and sets out to make sure that they stay gone, no matter what such a goal might require.
