Summary
Zuko won the Agni Kai, and his father was defeated. The hundred year war had finally come to an end. The world was moving forward, and everyone was going their separate ways.
Now, a year and a half later after the war, Katara offers herself up as a Southern Water Tribe ambassador to the Fire Nation. He knows she’s meant to stay around purely until they finalize negotiations. But there’s never a moment where he isn’t hopelessly dreading the day she leaves.
Canon divergence - Begins at the end of the Last Agni Kai, through the aftermath, and a couple years following it. Their after.

Peter snorted. Then he thought about it.
“On a rooftop?” he asked.
“You just pick the skyscraper, baby,” Felicia said, dragging one finger down Peter’s chest. “I’ll be there with bells on. Literally.”
She pulled away from him with a wink, a sway in her steps as she padded silent through the living room. Peter loved her.
Her father was right about one thing. A woman like Felicia deserved something more special than a ring from Zales hidden away in a cake.
She deserved a proposal as unique as she was.
