Summary
Tension is running high on the quest to get back to the Demon Realm.
Edric thinks everything is his fault. The idea of guilt over every terrible thing that's happened in his life recently has been lingering over Edric's head for the few months he's been stuck in the Human Realm. Every failed attempt to make a new portal just makes him feel worse.
Amity has had a lot on her mind. When she first arrived in the Human Realm, Amity's mind was circling the idea of being normal. It's all she wants after escaping the grasp of Empress Eboni. At first, her plan seems to be going well. Amity gets to make her own decisions, get attached to others, and actually reveal her true feelings. However, when she starts seeing her worst fears unfolding, Amity's new normal life may be totally destroyed.
Alador's trying his best. After being left to take care of twins as a single father, thinking he'll have to take care of four kids when his children get back home, and then being given eight in total when they do, Alador has a lot on his plate. Edric's endless guilt and Emira's endless worry aren't helping.
Will a new portal be successfully created or will a dark arrival of a grimly familiar face ruin everything?
