Shiho is oddly struck by the childishness of the statement, the petulance in his tone. She’s never heard KID sound like that. She’d never have thought KID would say something like that.

"You're full of shit."
Shiho sighs. "If you don't shut up and let me sleep I'm going to stab you both."
"What the fuck? It literally just happened—is nothing sacred?!"
"Save your breath, KID. She pretended to shoot me with a flower gun like two days after I'd actually gotten shot."
…
"I was still in the hospital."
The stunned silence that settles makes it about ten seconds, then, in the dark, breathy: Kuroba's laugh.

Or: Conan needs to catch a murderer but for that to happen, he needs to get in an event and find the evidence he needs. Yusaku is invited to the said event, but he's in America so Conan chooses another way: make the phantom thief disguise as him and get him in. Nothing can go wrong, right? “…Sorry?” KID asked, not really planning to tease him, but he genuinely had no idea what he had just said.
Conan shook his head again, angry and embarrassed at the same time. It was like little kids trying to ask their parents if they had actually done the do.
He muttered his answer again, in a way that was impossible to hear. Seriously, how unusual could this request possibly be for the detective to be suffering like this? KID was getting kind of worried. Was this all just a secret plan to throw him in jail and he was suddenly getting drowned in guilt of it?

That prince-charming archer that Izou recognized as Arjuna was on an opposing roof to Scathach, knowingly or unknowingly pressing the assassin’s buttons. Calling Izou oblivious, who’s attention to detail made him such a well reputed bodyguard...
Izou’s teeth clenched so hard he could feel them creak. What the hell were a demigod and a queenly corpse compared to him. He was a genius, only human but still a genius, he could master anything and win any fight against any person.
