Second Chance Home is up and running, and Evan has also applied for the Fire Academy after his friends recommended it to him. When he gets asked to take in a disabled child, he comes face-to-face with five-year-old Christopher Diaz, taken from his father when accusations of abuse are reported to CPS. Evan has to keep an unbiased opinion when confronted with the two sides battling for custody of the child.

I found this work that hadn't been updated since 2024, and the author's first language wasn't English. I decided that the story was way to good to be left unfinished, and I wanted to be able to enjoy it without the inner grammar grimlin screaming, so I fixed it and I'm posting it so I have an easier time reading it.
