The slate tiles of the roof are growing slick with rain. Sherlock could so easily slip, perched up here like an awkward gargoyle. He could lose his footing in his leather-soled Italian loafers and go cartwheeling into the dark.

He’s poking gingerly around the edges of that thought, like a tongue probing a sore tooth, when he first hears it: a grinding, warbling noise that somehow makes his teeth vibrate. He knows about this sound, of course, you don’t have a sibling who basically runs England without knowing about this, but this is the first time he’s hearing it for himself.

His mum has God. Harry has a band and an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. But him? He’s got anxiety and a whole lot of anger issues.
John needs an education if anyone’s going to see him as more than a kid from the Meadows, but he's not scared attending Conan. Watsons don't feel fear, which is a damn good thing when your roommate is Sherlock Holmes.Sherlock has a siren singing in his blood more powerful than his hunger for solving crimes. He knows nobody likes him. Nobody except John who calls him “amazing” and takes a bullet to foil a bank robbery. The people close to Sherlock are always disappearing or taking bribes from the British government, but what’s he supposed to do when a boy with everything to gain by selling out tells Mycroft to piss off instead?
