Laudna pulled a tight smile. It was kind of Imogen to say, but if she weren’t a puppet, she’d never have broken the stone.
Imogen locked eyes with her and pushed her voice into Laudna’s head. You are not a puppet. And you’re not stuck. Imogen turned Laudna’s palms up. Traced the lifeline from the bone-white skin of her wrist, up to the ink dark tip of her pointer finger.
