For some its a stress relief, a way to express emotions that their daily lifestyles don't allow, for some it their escape into the land of work and for others its their hobby to escape into.
For Vex'alia Vessar, art has become a bittersweet escape. One for which she can seek refuge in to connect with her missing sister and a way to handle her grief.
It just so happens that the painting Vax begged Vex to restore is also an escape....however this time its all the way to Exandria. -

"Imogen knows something’s up when Dorian brings home a coconut cream pie. Not because Dorian can’t or doesn’t do anything nice. But when he brings home a full pie from the cafe where he works, it’s usually Orym’s favorite, strawberry rhubarb, or whatever is left over at the end of the day.
Coconut cream is Imogen’s favorite though. And there’s almost never a whole coconut cream pie left at the end of the day. And she absolutely pretends not to see the way his smile tightens as he looks at her when he tells them all, “Dig in!” And, even though she’s sure there’s a catch to it, she tucks herself into a big piece and snuggles up next to Laudna for their show that night.
The other shoe drops the next morning."

The woman examined her hand for a beat, not with hostility, but something more like surprised curiosity. Before Imogen could yank it away, cold fingers wrapped themselves around Imogen’s hand and gave it a gentle shake.
Imogen put every single brain cell she had left into trying not to think about those long and cool fingers, and how they might feel in other places.
“Laudna,” the woman introduced herself.
“Beautiful name,” Imogen said, almost biting her tongue off after she finished saying it.
