Summary
Viktor "A," the mage who transcended mortality, reached over and over through the expanse of the Arcane to find an end to the eternal cycle he and Jayce are bound to. The journey finally over, he watches as his own Jayce is freed from the suffering they've endured for far, far too long, and quietly awaits his turn.
It does not come. Clearly there is work still to do.
Lost and now without purpose for the first time in eons, Viktor turns his energy toward the first act of atonement that comes to mind: rescuing Jayce "C," a variant whose unique circumstances have left him trapped in his dead-end timeline for over a decade. Perhaps if he can find somewhere safe for this Jayce to exist, he will finally earn his own story's end.
If only it were that easy. Viktor A has made a terribly human miscalculation- he failed to consider that he and Jayce C may have different expectations when it comes to their 'temporary' arrangement.

Summary
Jayce has realized that, for better or for worse, his life project is attached to a man he barely knows. Though Viktor seems to be his perfect scientific equal, Viktor seems keenly unwilling to talk about himself or even relax in Jayce's presence. However, a lot can happen to a project in a year. Through the rises and falls of laboratory work, Viktor and Jayce grow closer together - and, at the end of the day, they might even consider themselves friends.

Summary
Slowed by a snowstorm on their way to Albany, John and Arthur take refuge in a small cabin. In one universe, Arthur realizes that John has not only taken over his hand, foot, and eyes, but also whatever portion of him is responsible for the common cold - and how do you take care of a being who has no body to take care of?
In another universe, Arthur is the one to wake with a raging cold. Having suffered worse, he insists on persevering to Albany... only to be stopped by John. The god fragment has never been anyone's nurse, but he makes a solid effort whilst sorting through yet another new feeling.
(And a little bonus chapter where pre-canon Arthur takes care of sick Parker. Just for fun.)
