Summary
“Buck?” Eddie said, knocking on the glass. No response.
He tried the door. Locked.
“Buck!” he called again, louder this time, panic rising.
Still nothing.
Eddie didn’t hesitate. He grabbed the nearest tool from his truck—didn’t think, didn’t care—and shattered the window with one hard strike. The glass fell away, and cold air rushed into the car.

Summary
“You’re floating?” Eddie echoes. If he’s right, Buck might be upside down. In his car. After an accident.
Out of everything he’d imagined, the truth seems so much worse.
Buck giggles again. “Yeah, Eds, I’m floating.” he confirms, enunciating the word ‘floating’, as if he believed Eddie hadn’t heard him. “Everything’s tilted, like when I’d go on those rollercoasters and we’d stay in the air for a bit, upside down, waiting for it to drop. That was the…the best part, Eds. Maddie hated it, but I loved it.” Buck rambles, and all Eddie feels is fear.

Summary
“And now we want to make a new tradition. One that’s just for us as the Buckley-Diaz family.”.
“Th-the Buckley-Diaz family?” Buck stutters as tears well up in his eyes.
“Course Bucky. You’re family,” states Chris matter-of-factly.
Buck hears about a Buckley family tradition that apparently he had always been excluded from at a dinner with his parents and Maddie and is understandably upset. Eddie and Chris are going to start a new tradition just for the three of them so Buck never feels left out of a family again.

Summary
Bobby opens the door and his jaw hits the floor as he comes face to face with Evan. Evan, his son, who was supposed to be safely tucked away in Hershey with his lovely sister and parents, the Buckleys. Evan, who looks like he hasn’t slept in days and is bearing the weight of the world on his small shoulders.
“So you know who I am,” the kid starts, his words drenched in bitterness. It breaks Bobby’s heart. This is his son. His son, who is glaring at him like he is the scum of the earth.
“Evan –” he starts, but the kid cuts him off.
“Look, I know you gave me up and didn’t want me, but you are my father. I hope you are not too much of an asshole to turn me away now. Please, may I come in? I will be out of your hair soon, I promise.”
Something in Bobby breaks at those words.

Summary
Buck accidentally serves Eddie with divorce papers.
Eddie was standing in the living room, phone clenched in his hand. He didn’t yell. Not yet. He held the phone up, screen glowing, and said very clearly, “Why am I getting divorce papers?”
Buck froze. His smile vanished, eyes widening as recognition hit all at once. His brain scrambled, pieces clicking together too late. “Oh,” Buck said. “It really was that easy?”
Eddie’s jaw tightened.
Buck took a step forward automatically, hands lifting like he could calm this with his body alone. “Okay, so, hear me out—”
