Not stepping back. Not recoiling. But still, completely still, like his body had gone rigid in response to what he was seeing. His eyes widened slightly, darkening with something Lance could not immediately place. Shock, yes, but layered beneath it was something heavier. Something that made Lance’s stomach drop.
