Midoriya’s grin got wider as he talked. “That’s at least the origin of the oldest type of clown, the whiteface. But there are actually four main clown types! Whiteface, Augustine, Character, and Tramp or Hobo, but that’s a whole other deep can of worms. But clowns got involved with the circus before it was even the circus! Circuses were from the Romans, and they were horse and chariot shows. Clowns became children’s entertainment at more modern horseshows and just kind of stayed around as those horse shows transformed into the circuses of today!”
Shouto gently tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, licking his lips. He felt a little insane for how just... hot he found Midoriya. He was cute and earnest, and Shouto kept wanting him to use that raspy voice again.
And not to be weird about it, but the clown makeup was kind of doing it for him.
“Can I give you my phone number?” Shouto asked.
Midoriya let out a squeak. “Uh- uh- huh?”
Shouto leaned closer. “You’re really-” he hesitated for a moment. “Cute,” he said finally. “I want to see you again.”

Uraraka cocked her head to the side, a confused expression washing over her cute face. “Brushing… your… teeth?” She more so asked than said.

“And… well…” Langa hesitated. It was strange to see Langa be so careful with his words, especially over something like this. “Do you like… other strawberry desserts?”
Interesting.
“Like what? Like tarts?”
Langa bit his lip before replying, “Well, like cupcakes? Or milkshakes?” Then, lowering his gaze to the floor, he added “or cake?” Suddenly, Langa’s eyes widened before shrugging. Reki had to bite the inside to keep from bursting out laughing.
His birthday hadn’t ever really come up in conversations between them, and with all the excitement of the past year, Reki had completely forgotten that it was coming up. Chihiro and Nanaka had really latched onto the idea of birthdays last year though, so it made sense that they would have brought Langa into whatever plans six-year-olds could make.

“Scoot over, Langa, I need to open that drawer.”
Langa obediently slid over. He was shocked when Reki opened the desk drawer and he saw—“A sewing kit?”—inside.
Reki flashed him a thumbs up. “Yep! The twins calmed down, but I need to fix that plushie they ripped right away before they have another meltdown.”
On autopilot, Langa followed Reki. He couldn’t help it. Reki drew in things like he was a sun at the center of the universe. Langa was helpless to not follow. Even if it put him in the vicinity of sniffling children.
For some reason, he wanted to see more.

“I’m sorry… I guess I’m breaking a promise again.”Langa tries to ignore his romantic feelings for Reki, content with their friendship. But they become more and more prevalent in his mind. He hides them from Reki, not wanting to make anything weird, but after the stress of doing so, he develops a cough and sore throat. When he coughs up yellow petals, he knows he’s doomed.
