Summary
Hunger was familiar to Astarion. Intimately so. But when every day brought a new challenge, another fight, another hurdle in the way of their quest for a cure, the gnawing pit in his stomach made every aspect of their journey a trial of perseverance. Starvation made him slow and sloppy, and that put him at risk. Soon the others would surely question his usefulness, debate whether keeping a starving vampire around was worth the risk.
First, he needed blood. After that, he needed protection, assurance that there would be someone to defend him, to stand up for him when the others doubted.
And their wayward ranger of a leader, Vatyrie, was a perfect candidate for both his needs.

Summary
The walk back to the clearing where they’d pitched their tent was quiet. Soap was unsure why; he had done well. Their mark was unconscious in a puddle of his own filth, hexed to forget the night entirely, and a lead had been pried from his now-skinless jaws. It had been a good hunt.
“They teach you that in the King's Guard?”
The non sequitur startled him. He should have obfuscated the truth: that his violence was an instinct he carried since before he could walk. That it was the thing that most starkly othered him amongst his order, even more than his tusks, or his naivete. But he didn’t. Couldn’t. “No,” Soap said. “They tried to beat it out of me.”
Ghost's eyes were warm, after Soap spoke. Warm as tinder on coals, when a fire is young and new. “They would have ruined you.”

Summary
Ghost isn’t a fool, he knows what a familiar is (knows where babies come from too, if that’ll earn him a gold star). He understands the concept and the execution of it, even dabbled in the magical theory behind it when he was starting out. What he doesn’t know, frustratingly enough, is for what reason under the sun there is one perched merrily in his garden.
Or Ghost comes to terms with the familiar that he didn't want but definitely wanted him.

Summary
Instead of having to crawl out of his own grave, Simon escapes Roba's clutches with the help of Ghost. A klyntar stranded on earth who decided to make Simon his new home. The two of them were content with each other. They didn't need other humans.
Until they met Johnny.---
This story is a retelling of the game's campaign. Obviously there will be some differences due to the whole symbiote thing. Please enjoy :)
