Summary
Being a lighthouse keeper was a funny thing.
It was grueling work. There were days when he felt he would simply collapse. It could also be a bit lonely, but at least he had his library and occasionally the townspeople to keep him company. Stede had a hard time imagining a life he’d rather have, except sailing perhaps.
