    Summary

    It was now or never.

The Black magic filled him up, a snarling force propelling him onward. Regulus heaved himself on his hands and knees, tightened his grip on the wand he hadn’t released even when thrown bodily into a wall—Mother would be proud—and lurched toward the Troll's head.

It was messy, crude, and savage. Regulus held his wand with both hands, raised it high, and plunged it down. His head was swimming, his vision still blurred, his ribs aching, and the back of his head felt worryingly wet, but the Troll was so large that its eyeballs were as big as his fist. Regulus did not miss.

His wand skewered the Troll through the eyeball and pierced into its brain with a sick squelch. His hands slipped when he hit bone, but he didn’t falter, just firmed his grip and bore down, twisting to get his wand in deeper.

    Finally, viciously, he snarled, “Bombarda.”

    Summary

“Say, do you happen to know where the fuck am I, exactly?”

“Yes, about that,” He could hear Mei’s grin in her voice. “Welcome back to Musutafu!”

Izuku blinked once incredulously, then snorted out a laugh. He tried to stay quiet, but it was hard when he realized that he had chased a drug supply line all the way down to Mongolia, from which he managed to get banned, was chased to the border of Russia, where some gang or another took issue with his existence, killed a whole bunch of very bad people and made the cops very confused, had to run away from a bunch of heroes that absolutely were not afraid to use lethal force, unlike in Japan, and then stumbled onto his initial target by pure accident only to pick up some random trinket that he was vaguely sure was the product of some kind of transportation quirk, and end up right back where he started. In fact, another look outside revealed that he was only a few blocks away from Base.

    OR

Where Izuku is insane and immortal, Aizawa is sleep-deprived and robbed of his hard-earned sanity, Hitoshi is long-suffering and slightly manic, and Shoto is willing to do Anything to spite his father, even join a vigilante group of dubious morals. Maybe especially that.

    Summary

It was a sudden thought, a little like a lightning strike in the middle of a clear summer sky, and he was disgusted with himself almost before it even registered, but—

Maybe, he understood Mori just a bit, right now.

In this moment, in this second, Dazai felt like he would do anything, use any means, to tie Eri to himself so tightly that she would never even consider leaving. Reach bloody fingers inside her chest and twist her until she couldn’t take a breath without him.

A small hand tugged at his pant leg. A tentative voice said, “Daddy?”

Dazai met those red, candy apple eyes —so wide, so trusting— and very deliberately, very meticulously took that particular dark impulse and tore it out by the root. Then he set it on fire. Scattered the ashes. Salted the earth. And declared, in the privacy of his own mind, that he would never, ever be like Mori.

Or the five times Chuuya realized he was roped into being a murder family, and the one time Dazai did.

    Summary

Wan Shie looked at her newborn daughter, at her tuft of inky black curls and her large, golden eyes—eyes so much like that man’s—and wept.

There would be no peace for her, not with a golden-eyed child, not with a princess in her arms. She had wished and prayed and bargained with the gods to spare her child this burden, but her prayers went unanswered. Her little girl stared at her with eyes big and gold and inhuman. Dragon eyes.

Wan Yuxin grew up with golden eyes that painted a target on her back.

The golden eyes of a dragon. Eyes that gave her rights to the Dragon Throne.

She grew up with danger as her lullaby and blood splatter on pale cheeks as her mother cut down the assassins sent to take her life.

She was one princess out of a hundred, and the way up was paved with corpses. She was determined to walk that road, no matter what it took. No matter where it led her, as long as it ended with a crown on her head. Even if it led her to such strange places as Namimori. At least it gave her Fon.

Or, how two Clouds meet and take over the world.

    Summary

Killua's life—after his soul was rudely thrown into the body of Uchiha Sasuke, but that was a situation he was more or less resigned to—seemed pretty straightforward. Learn, get stronger, and then strangle Uchiha Itachi with his own insides before setting the remains aflame and scattering them in the wind.

At least, it seemed simple until a blond kid with ocean-blue eyes came along and toppled Sasuke’s carefully laid plans of fiery revenge like a house of cards. There was hidden rage in those eyes and potential for violence so beautiful Sasuke wanted to see it bloom. And if there was one thing both the Zoldyck and the Uchiha agreed on, it was that what they wanted was already theirs.

“Sasuke looked into those eyes and suddenly knew that if he asked, Naruto would readily cut off a piece of his own skin and give it to him with a smile.

He shivered, lips parting to suck in a reverent, earning breath. Ador squeezed his heart and held it hostage.

He hid his expression in Naruto’s neck, but it did nothing to disguise the shiver that went up his spine.”

(Ps: Absolutely no understanding of the Hunter x Hunter world is required to read this.)

    Summary

They had so little hope for the second baby—they barely allowed themselves to believe that even one would survive—that they didn’t even have a name prepared. They didn’t want to add yet another name to the family tapestry, one where the date of birth matched the date of death. It was better if there was no name at all.

In the end, as Narcissa stared in helpless love at her miracle child, at her son that was alive and breathing despite the odds, she had named him Regulus then and there.

Regulus, for one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Regulus, for the star that burned hotter and brighter than the sun.

(Regulus, for the little cousin she lost. For the child that burned so brightly and so fiercely that he set himself aflame. For the little boy with too serious eyes. For the teenager that bore the wrath of his parents in silence when his older brother abandoned him to their mercy. For the man he never got to become.)

    Regulus. Their Little King.

    Summary

“What,” Chuuya said, very eloquently and in a very controlled manner, “the fuck.”

The fucking bastard had the audacity to tut at him, shaking his head in mock disappointment. “Chuuya, I told you, stop swearing in front of our daughter. She is at a very impressionable age.”

“Our wha—,” Chuuya choked on his own words for the second time, his mind making horrible, screeching sounds of incomprehension. “Who the fuck allowed you anywhere near a child? Who is she?” He managed to ask finally.

Dazai gasped dramatically with one hand over his heart, the other notably never leaving the girl's tight grip, “How can you not recognize your own daughter? The child that I painfully pushed out of my own body?”

    Summary

The Winter Soldier was almost like a myth in HYDRA’s lower ranks. Except worse, because he was real.

He was a figure of pure power and efficiency. He was set as an example for them all, as an ideal to strive towards. It was whispered that the Winter Soldier wasn’t even human. His sole purpose was to serve HYDRA. His only goal was to complete the mission. His ruthlessness was legendary, and his cruelty feared. This man did not fail a mission.

“Asset,” the Winter Soldier immediately looked at the speaker—his current handler, just like Strucker was hers—blank and intent at the same time. “You are to make Wanda Maximoff into an Agent worthy of HYDRA by any means necessary. No permanent damage.” The last was stated almost as an afterthought.

And now, she was his mission.

“Do you even remember your name?”

    “No.”

Or: How to redeem Wanda Maximoff by giving her even more trauma and a father figure.

    Summary

He remembered the bandages covering thin limbs, a mirror of his own. And he remembered when the trembling stopped. When all fight left. He remembered empty red eyes as she returned into the hands of her captor. As she took his hand. As she said, “I‘m okay, mister. I don’t need your help.”

Dazai stared into his own reflection, and for the first time in months—for the first time since he watched the light leave Oda’s eyes—he felt fury roar inside his veins. Dazai burned like he never had before.

Her voice was quiet when she spoke, trembling and weak. “Are you…” she faltered, but swallowed and soldiered on, “are you like me?”

“Yes,” Dazai answered, just as heavy footsteps echoed outside the dark little room, and shouts penetrated the silence, “I’m just like you.”

    Summary

Just when the tension is about to snap, the purple one snorts. He covers his mouth with his hands, which seems redundant considering his metallic face mask, but he couldn’t seem to stop his shoulders from shaking. “Sorry, sorry. But you said–” he snorts again, “You said you summoned us to fight All Might?”

All For One turns in their direction, and Izuku was sure that if the man had a face, he would be frowning. The motion alone was enough to send a shiver of foreboding down his spine. The newcomers seem to be unaffected, though, as the purple one starts outright cackling in glee.

“Is this what’s called shooting yourself in the foot?” The silver one asks, and his monotone seems oddly familiar. The purple one cackles louder, and the green one sighs with deep, resigned exasperation that Izuku could feel in his soul but answers nonetheless, “Yes. It is also called the height of irony.”

The purple one stopped cackling only to say, “I think this could be put into the cosmic joke category.”

The silver one nodded, completely serious, “I understand. Thank you.”
