“It’s healing really well.” Katara tells him with a smile, before her lips quirk down into a frown. “Though it’ll still scar pretty bad.”
Zuko shrugs. “It’s ok. I doubt people will really focus on it anyway… the one on my face is a bit more prominent.”
Katara makes a face, like she’s not quite sure if she should laugh or frown, when Toph speaks up.
“You have a scar on your face?” Toph asks, sitting up so she’s sitting by his legs rather than lying on them.
Zuko blinks. He never quite forgets that Toph is blind, but the fact that she can’t see his scar never really occurred to him.
“Oh, yeah.” Zuko looks down at his lap. “My father burned like, half my face off before I was banished.” He says it a little too casually, probably not bitterly enough.
A crash next to him makes him look up, to see Katara's horrified expression, and a shattered bowl of water at her feet.
No one says anything for a long moment.
“Zuko… it- your dad?” Katara finally manages to gasp out. Zuko blinks at her, his brain moving slowly.
“You didn’t know?” He asks in genuine surprise.
“No.” Sokka wheezes.
Zuko blinks at him. “Oh.” Is all he can manage to say.

Summary
One-shot, Pat and Henry have Rich in an alley, Eddie happens by.
(Trigger for homophobic language!)“That's… that's not true.” Eddie looked at Richie, scouring every inch of his face.
Confusion flashed across Eddie’s face, then slowly it flattened out, he blinked in disbelief at Richie. Swallowing hard Eddie leaned back so he was sitting on his heels. The look on Eddie’s face hurt worse than anything Bowers had dished out, it stomped on his chest, crushed his lungs, squeezed his heart and cracked his ribs with devastation.
“Eds-” Richie started but was cut off by Eddie frantically shoving his books back into his backpack.
Bowers laughed, Patrick just smirked and leaned against the wall, like it was some great victory to see Eddie panic at the thought of Richie liking him.
“Oh, Oh this is great! It looks like Eddie hates fags too!” Bowers cackled, bending his back and holding himself up by putting his hands on his knees.

“Aglionby is a privilege,” she told him. “We pride ourselves in our academic excellence, and the bar is set correspondingly high.”
As if Adam hadn't known. As if he hadn't spent every spare minute he had in a scratchy, upholstered computer chair at the public library, researching everything he could about Aglionby, its student body, the successes of its graduates. As if he hadn't killed himself all school year to earn top grades in every honors class Mountain View High School offered freshmen. As if he hadn't found a job unpacking shipments at one of the warehouses at the edge of town — a job he wasn't legally old enough to have yet — so he could begin putting away money for tuition.
Because maybe Aglionby Academy didn't need Adam Parrish, but Adam Parrish needed Aglionby Academy, and since the afternoon he'd seen a shaved-headed, school-uniformed boy breeze through the checkout line at the supermarket while Adam couldn't pay for toothpaste and four cans of store brand ravioli, Adam had been determined to attend.
