“I think I get it now,” I whispered in Lisa’s ear, low enough only she could hear me even though I was fairly sure we were alone. “What you said about holding on to rage forever, letting anger hollow you out.” I glanced over to the retreating figure in the distance. “You were right, it’s no way to live. She grinned widely, letting her teeth show. “Sorry, Crystal, I didn’t catch what you said there. I was distracted for a second.”
