Caitlyn's hand rose, slowly, unsteadily. Blood slicked her fingers as she found the helmet's seal. A hiss of pressure, then the whine of servos and finally the clang of metal hitting stone.
Vi's world tilted.
Dark hair. The realization struck like a blaster bolt. Soft features though with charisma. In front of her it wasn’t the rough-edged man she'd imagined beneath that helmet, but-

Vi watched every sway of those long legs as they approached the bar, unable to tear her eyes away, whether out of caution or because she’d spring from the plush leather seat if any woman dared approach her wife.
And as if her mind had the power to conjure her worst nightmares, a woman—taller, much taller than Caitlyn—sauntered up to her. Vi’s heart sank for a moment, and without overthinking it, she stood and strode quickly to Caitlyn’s side, wrapping an arm around her waist. The taller woman looked down at her, almost mockingly, with a raised brow and crossed arms.
“You know her?” She asked, glancing at Caitlyn. The music was loud, but she caught the hint of mockery in her tone.
“She’s my wife,”
