LuSan Week 2026
Day 4: Hand Holding
“So that kiss last night, while I was asleep, must’ve been a sign of friendship too.”
After hearing that kisses can be used as greetings in some cultures, Sanji convinces himself that Luffy’s kiss must have meant nothing more than friendship.
It is the safest answer.
Carrot, however, saw what happened the night before. And she knows it was far more tender than that.

Summary
Luffy who catches Hanahaki disease, a slightly sentimental Sanji, and the pain of first love.
One day, a yellow petal fluttered past Sanji’s eyes. A dandelion—fallen from Luffy’s lips just as he tried to take a bite of Sanji’s food. Before Sanji knew it, Luffy was coughing for breath.
It was Hanahaki disease, a strange illness in which plants take root in the lungs. Every time Luffy opened his mouth wide, flowers forced their way out, tearing at him from the inside.
From that day on, Luffy stopped eating completely. The plant sustained him, making food unnecessary.
And for some reason, Sanji refused to leave his side. He kept finding excuses to sit beside his captain, making idle conversation while silently gathering the petals scattered around him.
Eventually, the disease progressed until Luffy lost the ability to speak. Even then, Sanji remained at his side, talking endlessly. As though he were trying to confirm something.

A World Where the Explosive handcuffs Were Real
⚠️ Contains references to limb loss.Sanji’s hands were blown off—and reborn as “Righty” and “Lefty.”
Now floating freely in the air, the two hands can cook perfectly and even hold a cigarette.
Sanji doesn’t seem troubled at all.
Everyone has accepted this strange new normal.
Everyone except Luffy, who still calls the two hands “Sanji.”A story about loss and recovery, told from Chopper’s point of view.
Set during the voyage to Wano.
Unlike in the original story, the explosive handcuffs were never removed at Whole Cake Island.
They don’t explode on land—but when you cross the border of Big Mom’s territory.Despite the premise, this is a gentle story with a happy ending.
Please enjoy it with peace of mind.(2025.8.21 update)
I’ve added the epilogue as Chapter 2.
It takes place a few days after the main story and follows a day in Sanji’s life, from his perspective.
