Coming from the other room was a bunch of idiots loudly cheering and cussing to a video game. In the kitchen, Emmett is drinking a cool glass of water. Leaving the group for a moment was easy, but re-entering the room was the scary part, you don’t have any idea who might have taken the chance to cast porn on the tv, or who was already throwing up on the couch. Not that staying would have stopped anything either way. Emmett couldn’t do much to stop all of his friends, if you could consider most of them anything more than a friend of a friend. You couldn’t.
At least Emmett has lots of friends, meaning friends of friends, meaning, the perfect group for house parties. Emmett chugs the rest of the glass and places it in the sink, walking back to the living room.
“Anyone else hella hungry?” Oliver says over the group, repeating himself to a few more guys before everyone starts to agree.

Simon’s eyes narrow, the bastard is assessing me.
They straighten, tilting their head back slightly. “But I do adore being called pet. By you.”
I feel a flash of heat, noticing the discomfort of my corset starting to rise. My heart pounds against it.
“Pets need to be fed.” Simon steps gracefully to a table, which is a part of the room’s symmetry. They slide open a slim drawer and pick up a pair of white gloves, slipping them on.
“Stop.” I say, but I don’t care to move as I watch Simon start to approach me. Polite taps arising like the lead up to something louder.
