Summary
AB had squinted at the screen. "It's a little blurry," he'd murmured, more to himself than to Virat. Virat had just pulled him closer, chalking it up to exhaustion from the last series. They'd switched off the television and gone to bed, the worry dissolving into the familiar warmth of each other.
That was the first lie AB told him, Virat would later realise. The omission.

Summary
Steve, who had been bracing himself for hostility, relaxed a little. “It’s not weird. It’s… different.” He felt a defensive twinge, mixed with a strange, immediate desire for this intense boy’s approval.
“Different is good,” Virat said, his grin widening. “I’m Kohli.” He extended his hand, a gesture so straightforward it felt revolutionary amid the post-match tension. Steve shook it, surprised by the firm, warm grip. “Saw you bowl yesterday. I think… I think you overthink it. But the ball… it talks when it leaves your hand. I bet your batting is the same.”
It was the first time anyone had described his bowling that way. Not as a science experiment, but as a language all its own. Steve felt a flush that wasn’t just from the heat. “My batting? Mate, what about your batting? I’ve been hearing how the Indian captain’s batting doesn’t just talk; it shouts.”
Virat chuckled, a loud, unselfconscious sound that drew glances from others in the corridor. “Good! Let them hear it!” he said, before patting Steve on the shoulder with a friendly thump. “See you in the final, maybe. We’ll have a proper battle.”

Summary
National duties. Managing workload. A strategic calendar.
Those words acted as a shield, polished to a deceptive gleam through eight years of constant use. Mitchell Starc offered them to journalists, friends, and the ghost of himself that gazed back from the spotless windows of his Sydney apartment.
That was the official story, neat and professional. But in the silent solitude of a morning like this, with sunlight lying across the minimalistic space of his living area like a gilded shroud, the truth was a living, breathing creature in his chest.
The truth had a name, and it was a flavour on his tongue that carried the memory of both sanctuary and ruin.
Virat Kohli.

Summary
It began, as many moments in cricket do, with a subtle observation from the boundary line.
In 2022, when Josh Hazlewood first wore the red and black of Royal Challengers Bangalore, the atmosphere in their training camp buzzed with a familiar, unmistakable energy: Virat Kohli's gravitational pull. And from a distance, Josh observed.
