    Lying wasn’t a very heroic habit, but it seemed all Hawks was capable of doing after being assigned this mission.

    Of course, it was built out of lies, so that made sense. He was supposed to lie to the villains to get on their good side, to gather information that would help restore hope in the heroes after so much had been going wrong. It was supposed to be a mission that would bring the heroes (and him) praise.

    It’s hard to believe they have no idea what they’ve thrown him into.

    [Or: Once upon a time, Hawks knew and loved a boy named Todoroki Touya. He vanished, and a few years later, Hawks met the villain Dabi.]

    “Hey, I was thinking,” Hawks said, effectively stopping Dabi from actually leaving the room. He should’ve known that Hawks would have something to say. “If your neighbor is really that annoying, you want to come over to my place to do homework some time?”

    “You want to do homework together?” Dabi asked, surprised. He’d expected Hawks to have something annoying to say about the class, or to tell him something irrelevant about his tutoring, but… instead, he wanted to start studying together again. They’d done it before, but Dabi was still shocked every time that Hawks actually wanted to spend more time than necessary with him.

    “Or, I mean, we don’t have to do homework. Can order some takeout, watch some Netflix?” Hawks smirked and Dabi scoffed.

    “Did you just suggest we Netflix and Chill, Hawks?”

    “I didn’t say the words!” Hawks winked. “But I wouldn’t say no.”

    “You’re asking me out?” Dabi paused this time for real, blinking at Hawks.

    [Or: College AU where Dabi doesn't know Hawks is his neighbor with the annoying bird that keeps him from doing his homework.]
