"Jordie knew it was a bad idea before it even fully formed in his mind. But he had to know. There was a part of him that had never gotten over what happened in that despicable city. He mulled over it every night as he tried to sleep. He thought back to it any time he saw a little boy that reminded him even slightly of his little brother. Anytime he heard of someone dying young from disease. He thought back to his father as he worked on the farm, how disappointed he’d be if he knew how he had let Kaz down. If someone was using his family name, he needed to find out who and why. He needed to get closure. He would go back to Ketterdam himself if he had to."
