Summary
In that moment, I knew that no matter how many times Sherlock or I tried to close our chapter; we were invariably drawn back together by an inexplicable force. We were characters entwined in a narrative far more complex than any that had ever emerged from Baker Street - a tale of potential love, regret and mystery; a complicated ballet that twirled us around time and again.
And so, we found ourselves where we had started like two characters stuck on repeat. Our story was far from over.

Sherlock had sent Y/N away shortly after Mary’s death in hopes of protecting her... and preventing her from stopping him from doing what he felt he had to do to save John. Now that she’s back and has all the details, she’s not sure their relationship can survive it.
Timeline-wise The Final Problem doesn’t exist, this takes place shortly after the hug in The Lying Detective.
