Leon's 51 years of life have been filled with the most bizarre sights and incidents one could imagine. Ada or the other girls he's known may have filled a big spot in his heart, but he requires 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦. His body craves 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐲. A 'happy accident' leads him to falling asleep at his favourite bar, still in his work clothes.
Author's Note: I have returned to writing! I skimmed over some RE9 fics here and realized I need to take matters into my own hands! I'm pretty confident I'll interpret Leon realistically.

A young woman knelt in chains, crimson blood pooling around her knees. It dripped down her arms from where her wrists were bound by manacles, the metal having worn into the skin. Her head hung against her chest, dark hair falling to cover her face. A man stood behind her, hands bloody and eyes wide in shock.
Molly stepped into the mill slowly, shoulders hunched as he held his swords ready at his sides. His thoughts raced and a foreign anger crawling up his throat. There was no conceivable reason he could think of that would justify this.

Summary
What if there had been someone else there when the Nein found Lucien in Eisselcross, someone who could see more than they should, someone who knew what it was like to always be on the outside looking in? This is a retelling of the story we all know with one little change added in, and that change's name is Namila Bagheri. Together with our favorite grumpy dirt wizard, she will try to see through the masks and the lies that Lucien uses as armor against a world he has long since learned not to trust. Will they be able to change his fate? Will they be able to reclaim the friend they went to Foren to find? Only time will tell.
An AU retelling of the final arc of Campaign 2 as I think it would go if there was someone there to counter the anger and distrust the Nein feel and show when they first meet the Tombtakers in the ruins of A5.
