La'An fixed the timeline, but lost James. And while there is an actual James somewhere in this timeline, he doesn't know her. But there is a Kirk brother who she knows, and who happens upon her while La'An nurses her grief.
This fic continues on from the moment La'An ends the communication with Real Timeline James T. Kirk, in which she asks him to confirm Sam's place of birth.

Summary
La'an just can't seem to get a certain image off her mind, and this is an issue. She's stuck in the past, in Toronto, with Sam's brother from an alternate timeline - and quite frankly no idea of what she has to stop or not stop - so La'an has to find a way to release the tension. Maybe then she'll be able to focus, and save her future.
This was heavily inspired slayer2003's hot and spicy chapter of angsty goulash (including Bossy!La'an, who didn't quite make a reappearance but my god what a babe).
The intent is that this will be the start of a series exploring the different ways La'an and Jim might end up.
