Summary
“CC Babcock, I presume,” Agatha said, her tone clipped yet confident as she glanced past Niles to CC. “And you must be the infamous wizard of Maplewood.” Her eyes flicked to Niles with a hint of disdain.
“Infamous?” Niles shot back. “Coming from you, Harkness, I’ll take that as a compliment.”
CC stepped forward, curiosity piqued. She had heard of Agatha, of course—who hadn’t? Known as both a brilliant and ruthless witch, she carried the nickname “Witch Killer".
“What do you want?” CC asked, folding her arms.
Agatha didn’t miss a beat. “You. For the Witches' Road.”
CC blinked. “I’m sorry, what?”
“The Witches' Road,” the Teenager interjected, his voice softer and far less intimidating. “It’s .."
"I know what the Witches' Road is", CC interrupts him. "And he does too", she adds with a glance at Niles.
Niles snorted. “Yeah, and why, pray tell, would CC agree to go on what is essentially a suicide mission?”
Agatha ignored him, her gaze fixed on CC. “Because the road has answers. Answers to questions you haven’t dared to ask for a century.”
The words hung in the air like a spell.
