Summary
Warmth rose against my back, climbing towards my neck quickly. The heat was unbearable and I thought I might blister. But, in an instant, with a death-like chill, it all dissipated and an icy grasp wrapped around the swell of my neck. The warmth remained beside my face, my brow damp with sweat and my chest bristling with goosebumps as the ice cold pressure on my nape increased as if a thumb were pressing into me. A broken, groaning noise came into my ears, surrounding me in waves, as if three voices were talking simultaneously but disjointedly.

Summary
Lauma yearned to see her in person. To walk beside her along the coast. To banter back and forth, and she would never say it aloud but she does miss the occasional teasing. Lauma would endure hours of teasing and poking fun at her expense only if it meant she could be in Nefer’s presence. But the world was not on their side, it seemed. No matter the hours she would put in and the amount of free time she could allow herself, Nefer seemed to be miles and miles away any chance she got.
