Summary
The smile on his beautiful face was enough to shut him up. He looked years younger than the man Whizzer had known, other than the dark shadows that still sagged beneath his eyes. It was the smile of a boy- exactly what Marvin was acting like. Whizzer found it hard to look away, just the little grin on his pursuer's face being more compelling than anything else he could've done. Marvin quickly looked away, linking his hands in his lap, as if he hadn't just altered Whizzer's brain chemistry with one flash of his white teeth. With an astonished exhale, Whizzer blinked off his daze and turned towards the diamond, resigned to watch some baseball.

Summary
Whizzer Brown is a pretty boy. Popular, cheerful, leader of many clubs, in many sports, very confident in everything he does. Everyone looks up to him in some way - they want to be his friend, they want to be him, or they want to date him.
Marvin Blumenfeld is quite the opposite. A lone wolf with just a few close friends, a member of the debate team just so he can fight without getting in trouble, on the mathletes team because he's smart and the school requires everyone be in at least two extracurricular afterschool activities.
No one would expect much to happen if or when these two would cross paths, but Marvin finds himself intrigued by wondering just how much of Whizzer is fake, and Whizzer finds himself intrigued by wondering nearly the same thing about Marvin.
