Summary
In the aftermath of the war, Aizawa struggles to adjust to his newfound reality: a prosthetic leg, a lost eye, a diminished quirk, and the heavy weight of the lives lost. Determined to regain a sense of normalcy, he and Hizashi do what they can in order to move forward and to heal-- Especially for their daughter, Eri.
But Aizawa ends up overworking himself to the brink, pushing past the limited strength he knows is already slipping away. As he shoulders the burden of his mental and physical wounds, the strain on the relationship between him and those he holds dear becomes ever-present. Despite Hizashi's best efforts to ease his husband's pain, the distance between the two only becomes even bigger.
If Aizawa continues on his path of burying his inner demons, it'll only be a matter of time before they consume him-- Completely.

“Are you… Happy?” Gaelio couldn't help but ask.
A pause.
The once sharp, pointed eyes began to waver. Forming into something more… Soft.
McGillis opens his mouth slightly, though words cease to come out. And for a moment, Gaelio felt that he should've just kept his mouth shut. He shifts uncomfortably as he awaits his friend’s response.
And shockingly enough, the softened look in McGillis’s eyes hadn’t faltered. It was enough to make Gaelio’s breath catch in his throat. And for some reason, he hadn’t wanted to break away from McGillis’ gaze. All in despite the small swirl of nervousness deep inside his chest.
McGillis has always been a rather ambitious man-- Always moving forward in his life with his goals in mind. Every one of his ambitions was carefully thought out and planned, or so he had thought.
His long-term friendship with Gaelio starts to become more of a detriment to his plans as his feelings towards his best friend grow over time. He knows that he must eventually cut ties with Gaelio in his pursuit of power; however, McGillis feels his drive towards his goals beginning to falter.
Including his desire to push himself away from Gaelio entirely.
