Summary
Music played through the hallway, soft and familiar, beckoning Mike to continue forward. David Bowie. There was something distorted in the way it played, Mike couldn't figure out where it came from, stretching every word like the song would continue to play forever but never quite reach the ending.
He doesn't remember the last time he heard a song finish.
"Mike?"
Holly's quiet voice chimes out from downstairs, searching for him.
His head whips around, but the movement unsteadies him, and his shoe presses down onto the landing before he can fall. Mike is turned around, confused, and delirious —

"I just don't understand the hype." Mike didn't even look up from his notebook.
"For Valentine's Day?" Max always had a sharp voice, Mike pretended to ignore her, cutting straight to the issue. "You're such a liar. Come on, you're just annoyed you don't have a girlfriend."
Dustin, a traitor that he is, piped in for the first time in the last 15 minutes. "He wasn't even that into it when he had a girlfriend, though? This isn't surprising."
"It's boring. It's boring."
Dustin hummed. "So boring you had to order flowers?"

Summary
Mike had a problem, but it wasn't actually about Will and it wasn't even about Mike being queer. It didn't even have anything to do with Mike's feelings for Will.
Mike's problem was irrational, and stupid, and made so little logical sense even Mike understood that it should not be that big of a deal.
That's the fault to irrational fears. Mike knew it was stupid, but what power did he have to put it to bed?
Avoidant, is what Mike thinks Nancy would call him.
She'd probably be right.

OR, Mike has always eventually been proven right, which pairs awfully with the irrational fear of everything going wrong if he let himself open up a little bit more. Shenanigan's ensue.

Summary
To avoid the collapse of Earth L-616 drastic measures had to be taken, and unfortunately the weight of it all was placed on the young shoulders of Peter Parker. The world forgot his name, they forgot Peter Parker, they forgot Spider-Man, and, despite his best, effort even that wasn't enough. If Peter Parker was walking the streets of Queens, New York, then Earth was still at risk.
OR, Peter Parker is cast out from his universe and discovered by a similar, yet different one.
