Summary
A story inspired by the song Pinocchio by HoshixWoozi.
Jihoon has always been good at lying to himself. It started with the small things—convincing himself that Soonyoung’s touch didn’t linger too long, that the way his heart sped up when Soonyoung laughed was just coincidence. But one day, the lies he told himself became too real, growing like vines around his heart, suffocating him.
But the truth has a way of unraveling itself, just like the strings of a wooden puppet. Jihoon tells himself he doesn’t need Soonyoung, that the heat in his chest when they’re together is nothing. But when Soonyoung finally stops trying—when he stops looking at Jihoon like he holds the universe in his hands—Jihoon realizes something painful.
He has spent so long pretending he doesn’t love Soonyoung, that now, Soonyoung might just believe it.
And maybe, just maybe, Jihoon is the real liar here.
