He thought he was hallucinating when he saw a man approach him. The Death Eaters were gone. Harry was gone. Perhaps he’d been too delirious to notice the passing of time, and this was who they’d sent to retrieve his body.
He hadn’t even died yet. Perhaps this was the Grim Reaper.
Cedric could barely focus on the man’s face. It swam in his vision, pale skin and golden eyes and light, silken hair. Unnaturally beautiful. He tried to focus harder, brows furrowing as he took in the newcomer.
“Who…?”
“Oh, you poor boy,” the man said, and his accented voice was soft, lilting, and so soothing. “What did this to you?”
