Summary
After the death of his mother the summer before, Severus was already aware that the Christmas of his 6th year would be one of his worst yet. It was even worse than he realised when the Slytherin dungeons became flooded and he had to spend the holidays in Gryffindor Tower of all places. Thankfully only Black was there out of the Marauders, with a couple of the girls, and Severus hoped he would be able to make it through the weeks with little issue. That all changed when he got pulled into a game of 7 Minutes in Heaven.

Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.

I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.
