“Frankenstein.”
“Yes, Master.” Frankenstein tucked his hands politely behind his back. His perfect posture betrayed no sign of the torment he’d put himself through just minutes ago. He closed his eyes serenely, waiting for his Master’s order.
“Those wounds are fresh.”
Frankenstein’s heart skipped a beat, his eyes fluttering open. His Master was looking at him with a slight frown on his lips, one that seized Frankenstein’s heart with panic. He couldn’t let Master find out about it, he couldn’t.
“Ahah, it’s nothing. I was just training,” he lied. “Don’t worry about me, Master, it’ll heal in no time.”

And his dream that night didn't help matters. They were standing in the living room again, with Frankenstein’s back against the wall, and Raizel once again in his servant’s personal space. And once again, Frankenstein didn’t seem to mind in the slightest. In his dream, Raizel didn’t know what he was doing, but he reached out. He caressed Frankenstein’s face, his fingers tracing the lines of his angled cheekbone, his strong jaw. His hand drifted lower, brushing the pulse point in his neck. Frankenstein shivered and made a soft, breathless sound that made the pulsing heat in Raizel’s body intensify.
Raizel paused, holding his fingers lightly against the artery. Frankenstein's heart hammered against his touch. Frankenstein’s heart belonged to Raizel. If Raizel wished, he could stop his heart here and now, without the use of power. He could stop that life-giving flow with just a thought. That was the power of the Contract. Of course, Raizel would never even consider it. But Frankenstein was considering it, and it was making Frankenstein’s breathing come fast, it was making Frankenstein’s body run hot like Raizel’s.
