A magic AU retelling of the Phoenix Wright trilogy that better sets up elements from the AJ trilogy threaded in with a lot of worldbuilding and some intreguing homebrew story beats. Sadly abandoned right before the last trial of T&T after a muddy detour through AAI 1&2. Fairly interesting read if you look past what I can only describe as a desperate need for an editor's TLC (especially when it comes to tenses).

Summary
Control swings from balanced on a delicate, razor thin wire. Tilt to far to either side and it snaps, throwing one into a nightmarish hell of fangs and blood, or a bottomless pit of paranoia.
For Miles, his entire life was built on the concept.
For Phoenix, it was nothing but a lie.
All it takes is one little push, one little incident to shatter the frail notion that everything is well.

Or, Miles is a vampire and Phoenix is the human he chose to spare for no other reason than to have him whenever he pleased.

Genuinely just a good vampire story, especially for people who find vampire romances trite, even if you don't know AA. Deliciously dark with psychological horror elements befitting vampire lore.
