    Yelena takes in a sharp breath. Closes her eyes. Bob swears he can hear the air conditioner, it’s so quiet.

    When she opens her eyes again, her lower lip trembles. “I thought you knew I cared about you. And that— that’s the only point of all this. To keep you safe.”

    Honesty shines through her eyes like a beacon. And yet…

    “Is it?” he whispers. “I’m not just your—“

    Project. Inconvenience. Pet. Mission.

    He never gets to finish the sentence. They all hear it anyways.

    TL;DR: After too many months of being caged in the tower, treated like a little kid, Bob breaks down and starts the long journey of healing and finding purpose, supported by his new fucked up family. Well, except for one of them, but maybe that's for the best.

    Bookmarker's Notes

    (English as Second Language, sorry for any writing mistakes).

    This is my first bookmark, and it's definitely the best fic I could choose as my first one. I loved this fanfic so, so, so, so, so much. Even though is a ship fanfic, you should know that is most Bob-centered (hope I used that term right), and I absolutely loved that. I related with Bob so much in this fic that I could see myself in it, and I must confess, this was kind of therapeutic. Reading his development, the way he got to improve with each chapter, and even the way he learned to deal with the Void, was so amazing. This genuinely made me even wanna try to believe in myself more. The way each feeling is written is like, wow, super relatable. Seeing how he gets to improve his self-esteem and learn how to accept Yelena's and his friends love was something that was about to make me cry. Author, if you read this, I'm very grateful that you have written this. More than a fanfic of a character I love, this is just what I needed to read.

    (I'm sorry if this is so dramatic for a bookmark, I'm, certainly, new on AO3, so, I don't know if this, uh, "confession" [I don't know how to name it, I'm sorry] is so dramatic or even inappropriate for here, but, in summary, give this fic a chance. It really worth it).
