Steve doesn’t answer. There’s tear tracks on his cheeks, Eddie notices, and the dark shadow of a bruise blooming behind them.
His alpha bristles.
Eddie leans in close. Slowly, so as not to freak the omega out even more. “Someone put their hands on you, sweetheart?”

When Steve doesn't end up calling Eddie back after the full moon, Eddie is forced into to pushing Steve's boundaries to make sure nothing happens when the next one rolls around. Though, with Steve already sobbing on the ground from pain when he arrives, Eddie is still surprised when he tries to lash out at him to try and 'protect him.' He quickly figures out a way around that, however.
