Morticia is standing on the upper floor of a grandiose atrium, wrapped up in his arms. their bodies are throbbing, coming down from a high of dancing together. Music pulses, far off. Her soulmate’s hair in thick between her fingers and it feels wonderfully electrifying to be held and touched by him, love made tangible.
When she comes out of the vision, the smell of roses is overwhelming. Morticia struggles to hold onto the memory of the words her beloved spoke to her, but they were so soft, so velvety rich in their deep timbre.

Summary
The young woman gapes at her, her sky blue eyes like giant saucers. The dark material of her Starfleet uniform makes her pale skin appear almost porcelain. With her long, rose-gold colored hair pulled back into a neat ponytail and freckles dusting her nose and cheekbones she looks like a doll, Kathryn thinks. The observation leaves a bitter taste in her mouth.
“Who are you?” she asks, even though the knot in her stomach tells her she already knows the answer. Still, she refuses to believe it until she hears it.
The other woman blinks irritated, then squares her shoulders and meets Kathryn’s gaze without flinching.
“Cadet Kathryn Janeway, ma’am”

Slowly, she remembers the person that she used to be, the person that she wants to be, and she finds herself caught between the man who had her heart for seven years, and this man, who tells her he wants to have her heart forever.
