Summary
The happiest Deo has ever seen Tommy, he thinks, is right now, as he looks over at Tommy from where he’s lounging in the co-pilot’s seat.
Tommy’s hair is blowing around his face, and his eyes are watering due to the wind, and his grin is wider than Deo’s seen it. The aviator goggles Deo’s noted as new are on Tommy’s head - It’s like he doesn’t even need them, not really.
It’s like Deo’s seeing Tommy for the first time - All of him is in the air, in this flight, at home high above the ground. It’s like he’s finally found his designated place in the world, with one hand on the throttle and the other on the control wheel.
Deo, both hands on his hat, Tommy’s infectious grin mirrored on his own face, wonders just how to find that kind of bliss.
