From a logistical standpoint, Reyes saw nothing but inconveniences everywhere he looked— the need for different wardrobes, tailoring all the regulatory armor to accommodate the feathered limbs, the additional medical leave needed for the molting— there was nothing redeeming about it.
On a personal side, he can’t deny that they’re at least pretty.

That was something Rin would do if only to make it clear that she had won. As if it even mattered anymore, with the country on the verge of starvation. Nezha could imagine her sleeping in his bed, tangled in his sheets, her head on his pillows as she drifted off into what she thought was a well-earned sleep after destroying his city.
Nezha could see her clearly– stripping off her uniform, leaving it on a pile on the floor, and sprawling on his bed as if it had always been hers. The moonlight streaming in from the window would turn her bronze skin silver.
He grasped his brush with one hand as the other reached into his trousers. The missive would reach her, one way or another.

After the fall of Arlong, Nezha fantasizes about Rin taking his old rooms.

Jesse feels drunk off endorphins and adrenaline and the way Gabriel looks down at him.
"You look like you enjoyed yourself," Reyes remarks coyly. He makes a note under Jesse's name on his clipboard, then tosses it onto the folding chair he had been stationed at. Jesse snorts.
"Kept runnin' his mouth."
Walking over to the younger man on his knees, Reyes squats down to his eye level. Then hooks a curled finger under his chin to lift, angling him this way and that. He’s manipulated so gingerly. McCree feels heat creep across his features.
"What?" Jesse hums. "'Fraid he broke my pretty face?"
It's said as a joke, though strained. This close, Reyes can hear it, how it struggles out of his throat.
“Making sure he didn’t mess up my mutt,” Reyes rumbles.
