Rin had done a lot of stupid things in her life, many of which she wouldn't consider herself regretting, but there were two though. Two that she regretted so bad, she had a feeling she would take those regrets to her grave.
1. Not destroying her uterus when given the chance.
2. Choosing Yin Nezha as her anchor.Now here she sat a wife to the man who stabbed her, daughter in law to a man who betrayed her, a Hesperian lab rat, with no access to her God.
The Hesperian's get bored with Nezha and her soon, and it's not like they could cut them up quite yet, they do need something new to though. What about a child? A true bridge between the Dragon and Phoenix. Something that should keep the Hesperian's entertained long enough.

It turns out pain isn't the thing she should have been getting used to—it's boredom.
Rin has decided that maybe the poppy field isn’t the afterlife, but her own personal hell. There is nothing to do, no one to talk to, and the sun stubbornly refuses to set, denying her even the slightest form of entertainment in watching the sky darken. The endless, rippling wave of poppies is beginning to feel patronising, and she briefly considers trying to make opium from them without any tools or equipment, just to have something to do.
She is convinced she has finally lost her mind the next time she sees someone land in the field of crimson flowers.

What's the worst that could possibly happen? Then the cast list comes out, and who else was cast as the male lead but Rin's least favorite person, tormentor and academic rival Yin Nezha. Now forced to gain the respect of her new Stage Crew and balance school and work with her new responsibility, Rin has to do her best to avoid punching Nezha's irritating gorgeous face. Whether or not she'll succeed remains to be seen.

The rain continues to patter down around them. Nezha’s only now realizing he’s soaked to the bone. It doesn’t matter, though, because he would bear it for Rin and more.
“What am I angry for?” Rin scoffs, volume increasing, “You fucking tell me, Yin Nezha.”
He’s at a loss for words. What can he possibly say that wouldn’t make the situation worse?

So when he gets second place behind Rin (of all people) in the First Year Combat Tournament, he realizes he has to do something drastic to earn first place: train with the only person who can beat him.
A Poppy War re-write, but I forced Rin and Nezha to be friends in Sinegard.
