“You used to look like a god.” Luo Binghe pressed his nose into the crook of Shen Qingqiu’s neck, breathing in. “But now I know you’re just like me.”
His fingers twitched. He desperately wanted to blast him with spiritual energy, but he tried to remain calm even as his insides seemed to boil. “You and I are nothing alike.”
“Aren’t we?”
“You’re a beast.”
“And you aren’t? Shizun, if nothing else, you are a demon wearing a human’s skin. And even if we do consider you a human, you are still close enough that I can drag you down with me as you deserve. I can thus touch you, and own you, and push you under me.”
Shen Qingqiu wanted to scream.
Luo Binghe just smirked, still running his thumb along the marks covering the other man’s neck, a delighted glint in his eyes. “It’s ironic, isn’t it? Now the beast who’s trapped is you.”
Shen Qingqiu is ensnared by someone he denounces as a beast. But is his disciple right? Are they perhaps both monsters after all—who deserve nothing more than each other?
