Underneath the white light of his torch, there is a… carving. Yes, it is, must be. Quickly enough to almost stumble and lose his balance again, Jon scrambles backwards until he can see more of the carving at once. That figure-- ample, exaggerated curves, swooping animal ears at the sides of the head, a long thin tail, a gentle, benevolent smile--
An incredulous, giddy laugh bubbles out of Jon without his say-so, echoing down the cave until it sounds like there are at least three more people laughing with him.
It’s the same figure that he’s only seen fragments of until now, carved into clay shards dug out of the dirt. It’s so remarkably well preserved…
“I’ve found you,” Jon says softly, feeling a broad smile pulling at his lips.

Summary

Summary
Martin wasn’t sure how long it had been since he got turned into a butterfly sized version of himself by a pissed off wizard. Not an actual butterfly, mind. That would have been useful compared with what he’d ended up with: he was still a completely normal human being in everything but size, without any magical powers or even a pair of handy wings.
