“You know, I wasn't really in a good place when I was awful to you in Sochi, right?” Ilya breaks the silence with a low voice.
“Why are you thinking about that right now?” Shane looks up at Ilya’s face, unknowingly playing with Ilya’s gold chain that's lying on his chest, under Shane’s hand.
“I don't know,” Ilya starts, “I was just thinking, how we could've had this way sooner, if I wasn't so afraid,” he continues and softly kisses Shane’s forehead.
Or: Shane and Ilya just spent two beautiful weeks at the cottage and they have a big debrief about everything they've been through together (and apart) in the last nine years.
