Your eyes are glassy, gaze distant, and at first, you don’t say anything at all. You just stare at him blankly, as if you’re looking right through him. It takes you a moment to register that he’s speaking to you, that you’re meant to answer. You blink a few times, seeming to struggle to formulate a response.
“It’s cold,” is all you manage to say.
