Summary
Motoya was a liar.
He was nothing better than a wounded animal backed in a corner- he not only lied to protect himself, but to protect the ones around him.
Motoya's sense of belonging was sparse, his ability to trust was even dimmer. After running from a grueling past of a family that cast him the black sheep, as well as a disloyal relationship, he began to run out of viable reasons to live a truthful life.
The last thing he expected was to stumble into a pre-established relationship, befriending a couple tied to the only person he seemed to trust in the world- his cousin. When friends begin to leak and blur into something more, he found that he could no longer lie to protect himself.He needed to do something that he swore to never do again- open up.

“Fight back” Kaveh shouted.
“Just fight back, you’re stronger than me, stop playing- stop pretending like you’re weak!” Kaveh roared. He held the sword threateningly, hoping to scare Alhaitham into fighting back. But all he could see was those same eyes, those watercolor eyes that always seemed to sparkle a bit more when he was around. He knew, Alhaitham never looked at anyone that way and he knew what that meant. He knew the prince of the desert well enough to know why he laid on the floor and let Kaveh pin him down with a sword.

But as he watched his architect carefully wash out his hair, the scribe realized that he, in fact, has almost never told Kaveh how truly breath-taking he is.
He had about a week until Kaveh's birthday. How could one find a way to tell their lover that they are so in love with them in such a short amount of time -- especially when Alhaitham is not the type to express it through anything but by the little things?
