Summary
For as long as Neil could remember all he had known were the tower walls that hid him from the outside world. The promise he'd made to his mother the last time they'd seen each other to never leave the tower still burned in his tongue. For now, what had once been a refuge for Neil, was nothing more than a prison. But that wasn't the only promise his mother had wrested from him.
A thread of hope is the reason we're still alive. Don't lose that hope, Abram.
He just wasn't expecting hope to come in the form of a small, grumpy thief breaking into his tower.

All he can think is that the boy is dangerously pretty. The idea of asking him to go into the alleyway between Eden’s and the bar next door for a quickie flits through his mind before the boy scoffs and rolls his eyes.
